DAZZLING beauties and handsome hunks headed to a city bar as the hunt for Peterborough’s best looking men and women got underway.

A glittering ceremony was held at Halo, in Northminster, Peterborough, to mark the start of the Mr and Miss Peterborough contest.

It was attended by the event’s organisers, Chris and Deb Burbage, and last year’s Miss England winner, Jess Linley, and Mr England 2010 Vaughan Bailey, as well eight city participants who will be looking to take the Mr and Miss Peterborough crowns.

It is the first year the city has hosted a Mr Peterborough competition, which is also affiliated to the Mr England contest.

Deb said: “We are really looking forward to another year of the competition.

“It’s the first time a Mr competition has been held here and the calibre of the applicants is really good.”

The deadline for applicants is February 18. Auditions will be held the following day at the Holiday Inn Peterborough West, in Thorpe Wood, Peterborough, ahead of the grand final at the same venue on April 8.

And the chap on the left should have worn a jacket that fits, or at least left the button undone ! Never mind, he will be able to get another from Primark for £1.99 soon.
