Crime news and court reports from the Peterborough Telegraph - www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk

More than two tonnes of potentially deadly fireworks have been stolen from a farm near Stilton.

The theft happened between 5pm on Wednesday, October 24 and 8am the following day at Redhill Farm, Denton, near Stilton.

Roughly two tonnes of professionally graded fireworks, which were worth hundreds of pounds, were stolen from a container.

Detective Constable Andrew Bond, investigating, said: “These fireworks are not for public use and we’re concerned that in the wrong hands they could be extremely dangerous and potentially fatal if tampered with.

“These fireworks should only be used by professionals and if anyone knows of their whereabouts, please contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
