Police and ambulance service vehicles on Oundle Road after an accident involving a cyclist

 

Thursday 7.30pm: A cyclist was left needing medical treatment tonight (Thursday) after she was in collision with a car in Peterborough.

The accident happened on the Oundle Road close to its junction with New Road at about 5pm.

Medics say the cyclist, a woman who is believed to be in her 60s, was taken to Peterborough City Hospital for the further assessment.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Motorists faced slight delays while emergency services attended the scene.

A police spokesman said: “A car and a female cyclist were in collision near the junction. We do not have any details of any injuries.”

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “An ambulance and a response car were sent to the scene.

“The woman, who we believe was in her 60s, was taken to hospital for further assessment.”
