Half-term activities in store for families in the Fens

Half-term activities in store for families in the FensAN opportunity for children to design their own comic, and a series of film shows are among a range of special half-term activities planned for Fenland children and families this week.

Other events include stencil art, messy play and three "drop-in" sessions aimed at showing young people the benefits of doing voluntary work.

The week's timetable includes a community cinema showing of Up today from 2.30pm at Whittlesey Youth and Community Centre, in Scaldgate, Whittlesey. It costs 50p a ticket and all ages are welcome.

On Tuesday, there is a stencil art session for young people and families at Manea Village Hall, in School Lane, Manea, near March from 10am.

On Thursday, families can enjoy a Chinese New Year themed messy play session for toddlers and parents at Doddington Sports Pavilion, in Benwick Road, from 10am. The community cinema showing Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs will also roll up at The King Edward Centre, in Station Road, Chatteris at 10.30am.

On Friday, arty youngsters can try and design their own comic at Wimblington Parish Hall, in Addison Road, Wimblington, at 1.30pm.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.
