Posh are promoted to the Championship.Chairman Darragh MacAnthony and manager Darren Ferguson led the celebrations on the pitch as Posh beat Colchester while sole rivals MK Dons were losing at home to Walsall.

Charlie Lee's stunning 40th minute strike sealed a win which should have been gained by a far bigger margin.

Posh were superb on the day as Colchester relied on 'keeper Dean Gerken to keep them in the match.

He made superb stops from Craig Mackail-Smith (twice), Chris Whelpdale and Aaron Mclean.
