ANXIOUS friends of missing Theo Kawala are pinning their hopes on another push for information this weekend.

The 16-year-old has still not been found despite hundreds of friends, volunteers and police officers searching since he was last seen on February 18.

Police launched a massive hunt for the popular teenager calling in experts from Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue (CamSar).

A fingertip search of the river bank was conducted and specialist divers from Nottinghamshire police were used to search the water up to the Dog in a Doublett Pub near Whittlesey.

But his parents Herve and Cecile and sisters Adeline (19) and Juliette (12) remain desperate for news, clinging to the hope he will at some time walk through the door.

Debra Trickey (16) went to Jack Hunt School with Theo before she started at Peterborough Regional College.

She said: “He is such a fun friend and incredibly popular we just want him to come home.

“I have spoken to Adeline who has thanked everyone who has helped give out flyers but we decided to do another event.

“We are going to do it on Saturday when it will be very busy with shoppers and hopefully jog people’s memories.”

Debra has started a Facebook group to drum up support for the event with 84 people saying they will attend and a further 115 hoping to.

They plan to meet in Cathedral Square, Peterborough, at 1pm, some wearing t-shirts with Theo’s face printed on, to hand out the flyers.

Detectives leading the search still want to trace three people who may have seen Theo shortly after he was spotted on CCTV at midnight in Lower Bridge Street outside Multi York.

A police spokesman said: “We have put up an information board outside Charters pub on the Town Bridge as that’s a key location.

“We think he may have been seen there by several people as he made his way away from the town centre and we would like them to come forward.”

Officers are still trying to trace a man and woman who were seen outside Charters pub.

The woman was of large build, in her early 20s, about 5ft 4in, with dark shoulder length hair. She was wearing a beige top, black leggings and a denim skirt.

The man was in his early 20s, 5ft 8in tall, slim with short hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a white top.

Police also want to speak to a man seen talking to a group of youths at 12.20am in Oundle Road and was seen walking towards London Road.

He is aged between 20 and 30 and was wearing a black and white check jacket and black tracksuit bottoms with a white stripe down the side.

Theo, who is slim and 6ft 1in tall, was wearing blue jeans, a black shiny jacket, a red and white check shirt and black trainers. Anyone with information should call 0345 4564 564.
