FROM Michael Jackson's Thriller to '40s jive, pupils at an Ortons school have had happy feet learning dance moves in a week dedicated to music. The youngsters at Leighton Primary School took part in a Music Enrichment Week last week, playing the drums, taking part in a talent contest and learning about music and dances from eras including the 1920s, '40s and '60s.

The pupils from Year 3 and 4, at the school, in Leighton, Orton Malborne, also learned some moves to make up a dance routine to classic pop song Thriller with the help of dance tutor Sara White, from Jive Nites.

Teacher Cathy Marsh said: "It went down very well with the pupils. I think different pupils enjoyed different aspects.

"The Music Enrichment Week is one of the ways we try to broaden the children's curriculum as much as possible."
