Chinese events celebrating Year of the Tiger

FAMILIES are welcome to celebrate the Chinese new year of the Tiger with a series of activities in Peterborough.

FAMILIES are welcome to celebrate the Chinese new year of the Tiger with a series of activities in Peterborough.Orton Children's Centre at The Jigsaw Centre, in Herlington, Orton Malborne, is holding Chinese-themed cookery, arts and crafts, dance and storytime sessions from February 15 to 19. Parents and children aged six and over can learn how to make authentic Chinese noodles and fried rice at a Chinese cookery session on February 15, from 10.30am and 12.30pm.

Children aged two to 10 can have a go at making a Chinese lantern or fan at a craft session on February 17 between 10am and 11.30am.

This will be followed by a storytime session for children aged up to five on February 19 between 10am and 11.30am.

The week will draw to a close with a Chinese lion dance session for two to 10-year-olds at Christ Church, Orton Goldhay, Peterborough, on February 19 between 1.15pm and 2.15pm. For information call 01733 237209.
