She assumed that she had dandruff and tried virtually every product on the market to try to stop it. But still the itching continued.

"It was awful actually, because you'd want to scratch your head but you think 'I can't sit here scratching'," she said.

Eventually, Dawn, who is an actress, runs her own business and also works as a temp, heard about Tracey Walker through her hairdresser, and decided to go along.

Tracey told Dawn it was not dandruff but a condition called seborrhoeic dermatitis.

She was also able to reassure her that the gels and mousses Dawn had used to tame her lovely curly locks were not to blame.
