Businesses sign up to be ‘big wigs’

IT specialists from a city firm have become the first Peterborough businesspeople to enter the Sue Ryder Care Big Wigs Challenge.

Shield Technologies, based in Prospect Place, Peterborough, have signed up for the fundraising appeal, which will help the healthcare charity continue to assist people living with life-threatening conditions at its Thorpe Hall hospice, at Longthorpe.

Claire Swindale, sales and marketing manager, said: “With a growing business, with more staff and resources available, it seems like the right time for Shield to put some time into raising money for a really worthwhile cause.”

Big Wigs will run from April to August and has the backing of business guru Ruth Badger for a second year.

The challenge to business leaders and company teams is to take £50 and, over a four month period, make it grow as much as possible. Cambridgeshire Big Wigs will be launched at Thorpe Hall Hospice on April 27th, at 6pm.

To sign up, or for details about Sue Ryder Care, visit www.suerydercare.org or call 0845 050 1953.
