A PETERBOROUGH woman thanked medical staff who saved her life, by raising £9,000 with a party.

Maggie Mooney, from Werrington, pledged to support Addenbrooke’s Hospital after staff carried out a liver transplant on her last May.

She started by holding a black tie event at the Executive Suite at Peterborough United, in London Road. Generous auction and raffle donations from businesses helped raise the £9,000, which will be split between the hospital’s liver, transplant and hepatology units.

Maggie said: “My friends and I are now organising coffee mornings once a month.”

Anyone interested in helping her can email her at magsmooney64@gmail.com or sheridangaunt@rocketmail.com.
