A HIGH profile campaign saw a dozen anti-abortion campaigners holding banners at the Bourges Boulevard roundabout as shoppers came into town on Saturday.

12 members of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children greeted cars, buses and pedestrians with their pro-life slogans.

Protest organiser Iain McLaughlan said: “Abortion kills babies and hurts women.

“We wanted to protest somewhere with high visibility to get the message to as many people as possible.

“We have had about a 50/50 reaction between positive and negative feedback from people.”

The group has organised similar protests in the city for 20 years.
