Letter: Still waiting on Olympic spending request

It is all very well for Cllr Fitzgerald to huff and puff away about civic pride and patriotic whatever, but despite my letter asking where the money for the Olympic torch jolly will be spent having been published now for some days, it still does not answer the question of into whose pockets and for whose benefit £93,000 is being spent when the Olympic torch comes to Peterborough.

And Cllr Fitzgerald can huff and puff away, but I challenge him and repeat the challenge to Cllr Cereste, which has so far been ignored, to tell me and, therefore, the rest of the citizens of Peterborough where they are spending our money on this unnecessary, but for some, interesting event.

And don’t forget to justify the water taxi money as well.

I am willing to bet a fiver that nothing will be explained because they are aware that the people who will benefit most are probably councillors who will go to the event.

Go on chaps, prove me wrong.
