Letter: Praise of our history book was welcome - 06/02/10

In reply to Matt Rowbottom's letter may we thank him for his generous appraisal to the publication of our new book Peterborough in 1960s and 1970s. We are indeed grateful for his generous remarks which makes all of our hard work seem very worthwhile.

In reply to Matt Rowbottom's letter may we thank him for his generous appraisal to the publication of our new book Peterborough in 1960s and 1970s. We are indeed grateful for his generous remarks which makes all of our hard work seem very worthwhile. We have had literally dozens of positives from the public since the publication went on sale just a few weeks ago. Just for the record - we spent almost 10 years wondering whether a book like ours was what the Peterborough public wanted so just a year ago we settled down to sort out the best possible pictures we had from that era. Hence - this new picture book of ours was published.

"Proof is in the Pudding" they say. We sold an amazing 500+ copies in the first 24 days leading up to Christmas. Far beyond our wildest dreams!

Because of that - we would sincerely like to thank Matt and all the other 800 or so readers who have purchased our book so far.

There are still some copies left and may be bought from Destination Tourism Centre in Bridge Street. Alternatively you can buy it in the Museum, in Priestgate, for anyone still interested.

Thanks a lot everybody
