Letter: Make sure lollipop cuts scheme is thrown out
It is hard to believe that Peterborough City Council is to cut back on lollipop attendants and I trust that common sense will prevail and the scheme abolished. With the roads so busy it needs to.
We are told that our views will be considered as part of the consultation, but will it make any difference? Remember, Bretton Woods Comprehensive School closure was even decided before a full consultation took place. Though now, to be fair, there are councillors who will vote against this scheme when the vote comes before the full council, and frankly the other councillors should join in their objection against the scheme.

Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 11:29 AMFrances, agree with the comment regarding Bretton Woods School and the Liebour party, as the site still lays empty, an eyesore to all Bretton residents and gave nothing to the area except a long walk to Walton for Bretton secondary pupils, but what do City Councillors care? they don't have to walk the journey every day come rain, hail, snow and dark dank footpaths which they never did put lighting onto and frightens the life out of me to walk there between October and February as an adult never mind a thirteen year old child.I just can't understand why the likes of refusing funding for school crossings are thought of in the first place unless it's to deflect your mind from other calamity projects such as Water Taxis.
