Letter: It was great to see a room of smiling faces - 09/02/10

I would first of all like to congratulate William Law School on receiving its award for Small Spaces Gardening at this year's PECT Environmental Education Awards.

I would first of all like to congratulate William Law School on receiving its award for Small Spaces Gardening at this year's PECT Environmental Education Awards. But my applause must also go to the Peterborough Environment City Trust for all its hard work in preparing and conducting the ceremony at the Town Hall, along with the support it continues to give to Peterborough schools. The evening was a success for both them and for the children, who are now more environmentally aware than older generations ever were.

It's not often that children get rewarded for going to school, but I know the winners and runners-up did work especially hard to achieve their aims. They all thoroughly deserved their awards and it was a pleasure to see the room full of proud and happy faces.
