Letter: Breakfast clubs - Food for kids is a priority buy, surely?

In response to John Knowles’ letter about MP Stewart Jackson’s comments on breakfast clubs.

Any parent on a low/lowish income is receiving both Family Allowance and Child Tax Credit for each child, and working tax credit, and most of their childcare paid if they are working.

If they cannot afford to buy their child breakfast, they are spending their money on the wrong things !

Also, where are all these working parents on low incomes?

There are not many working full time – over 70 per cent of social housing in Peterborough have their rent paid by housing benefit !

I suggest Mr Knowles wakes up to the real world, and stops being so naive !
