The festive holiday looks set to continue for a few more days for the pupils of one Peterborough school.

Parents and pupils are being warned that St Augustine’s Junior School, in Palmerston Road, Woodston, will be closed for at least two more days after its heating system failed.

It means the school, which has 186 pupils, will remain closed on Tuesday (6 January) and Wednesday while repairs are carried out.

A spokeswoman for Peterborough City Council said: “St Augustine’s Junior School in Woodston will be closed tomorrow and Wednesday due to a leaky heating system.”

She said the situation would be monitored but did not rule of the possibility of the school being closed later in the week.
