VIDEO: KFC in Peterborough reopens after intense car fire spreads

A fast food restaurant in Peterborough is re-opening this morning Friday, after an intense car fire spread.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue were called at about 3.30pm yesterday, Thursday February 4, to the car fire at the Eye Roundabout services.

A spokeswoman for the service said: “At 3.27pm on Thursday a crew from Dogsthorpe was called to a car fire in Eye Road, Peterborough.

“Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the car fire, which had spread to affect outdoor electrical structures including a drive-through menu board. Firefighters also isolated the electrics and gave advice to the manager on site.

“The incident was dealt with by 4.35pm.

“The cause of the fire was accidental, by electrical.”

KFC contacted the Peterborough Telegraph this morning to assure customers it would be business as usual today and nobody was injured in the blaze.
