Hundreds of people took part in a procession in Peterborough for a religious celehbration.

Shrugging off the cold and wet weather, adults and children made their way through Gladstone Street to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.

The procession of marchers, with some people travelling in a convoy of cars decorated with balloons and streamers made their way from the Ghousia Masjid at one end of Gladstone Street to the Faizan-e-Madinah Mosque at the other end of the same street.

During a programme hosted by the Faizan-e-Madinah Mosque with the co-operation of the other Peterborough mosques, the congregation looked at isues from terrorism to behaviour contrary to Islamic teachings from the perspective of Muslims living in UK.
