The Magpas Helimedix team had to land at a Peterborough retail park after a pensioner was taken ill at his near-by home.
Ambulance crews were called to a house on Scotney Street, Peterborough at 12.30pm today (Thursday) after reports the man, aged in his 70s, had collapsed.
Two ambulances from the East of England Ambulance Trust were called to the scene, and the Magpas helicopter landed at the Brotherhood Retail Park near-by to offer support.
The man was taken to Peterborough City Hospital by land ambulance. A spokeswoman for Magpas said: “On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a serious condition.”
