The work of the palliative care team at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been recognised by the National Council of Palliative Care.

The trust was one of six in England and Wales that was highlighted in the council’s 24/7 Models of Care Report as a good example of round-the-clock care to be used for commissioners to follow when commissioning services in the future.

Bev Goose, Lead Palliative Care and End of Life Nurse, said: “We were delighted that our 24/7 models of care system was published as part of this important report. We have worked hard to shape better experiences for patients and their loved ones and it would be fantastic to see the models we have developed put into practice in other parts of the country.”

Chief Nurse, Jo Bennis, added: “I hope this report will help raise the bar for palliative care across the country and feel very proud that the spotlight has fallen on our fabulous team.”
