Care providers, health bodies and senior staff at Peterborough City Council have teamed up to ensure a consistency of care quality after becoming frustrated about a lack of communication.

The project brings together top executives to work towards the government’s vision of integrated healthcare.

The Peterborough Providers’ Forum was initiated by PJ Care and Peterborough Care when they became increasingly unhappy with the communication with the council.

The changes mean the independent board that oversees adult safeguarding in Peterborough now includes two forum representatives.

Wendi Ogle-Welbourn, corporate director for people and communities at the council, said the forum has “enabled us to build better relationships which will most certainly lead to improvements in systems and processes and most importantly services to Peterborough residents.”
