The app aims to provide information on becoming an organ donor and encourage people to join the NHS Organ Donor register. It incorporates interactive features that appeal to people of all ages, across all backgrounds, including games and interesting facts and figures. Users can also read about the experiences of organ recipients, religious views on organ donation and frequently asked questions.

Dr Tuba Hussain, Clinical Lead for Organ Donation, said: “Organ donation is a sensitive issue and we have found that some people are reluctant to sign up because they don’t have enough information.”

The app is now available to download on Google app store, just search for PCH Organ Donation. It will be available on Apple Store later in the year.
