Full-time: Plymouth 1, Posh 2

Match report: TWO late Craig Mackail-Smith strikes gave Posh a winning end to the season.

Posh had trailed at half-time to a Bradley Wright-Phillips goal but fought back well in the sceond half to earn their second away victory of the season.

Mackail-Smith levelled the scores in the 61st minute when he buried a shot after Liam Dickinson had flicked on Mark Little’s cross.

The strike headed home a second six minutes later from a well taken Tommy Rowe free kick.

Teams:

Posh: Lewis, Morgan, Little, Andrew, Bennett, Lee, Rowe, Simpson, Dickinson, Mackail-Smith, Korentang. Substitutes

McKeown, Griffiths, Piergianni, Green, Romone McCrae, Wright, Mills.

Plymouth: Ngala, Bhasera, Duguid, Fletcher, Clark, Johnson, Kari Arnason, Judge, Wright-Phillips, Mason

Substitutes: Chenoweth, Barker, Rede Johnson, Nelson, Summerfield, Bolasie, Fallon

Full report, reaction and photos in Monday’s ET.

i have too say fergie was way of the mark when he said we`d make the play off`s we`ve had no strength in depth.. He signed to many non league players who have failed to shine all season long.. The post mortem is grim. Does any one know what the pre-season friendly games are yet

Otto...Why do you continue to talk such crap? Why didn't Fergie sign those players in the january transfer window? Pretty obvious really, we had another crap manager doing that for us, a mistake DMac has held his hand up to. Let's take a look at Fergies signings and evaluate how much they have cost the Chairman. Joe Lewis.......500k....Tom Williams....50k....Gabriel Zakuani...350k....Lee Frecklington...175k.....Tommy Rowe...250k....Toumani Diagouraga...175k...Chris Whelpdale.....50k....Ben Wright....75k....Sergio Torres....150k......Russell Martin....125k....Paul Coutts....50k......Dominic Green.....125k......Danny Mills....50k.....Ramone McCrae....50k....Charlie Lee....Free.....Kwesi Appiah....25k...Ryan Bennet...400k......Scott Griffiths....125k....Liam Hatch...150k........So the Chairman funded Fergie just shy of £3M to bring in the players he wanted.....How much have Blackpool spent on players? Yet they are approaching the play offs. The simple fact of the matter is Fergie has had the money to get the players HE wanted and some of them were just not good enough. So take your personal jealousy of the Chairman away and start to look at the real reason this season has been so bad....Fergie was too pig headed when offered money to bring in the experienced players he needed, he thought the team he had put together (with an awful lot of help from Keith Alexander) was good enough to win this division....HE WAS WRONG!!! As for you Borian, now is the time for your aestivation, let's just hope the fat reserves are not enough to see you through the lean spell.

Could this be the long awaited "win to kickstart our season" posh have been waiting for since the middle of August! Never mind the World cup Posh fans summer will be all about a list of meangingless friendlies, hyped up season tickets sales figures, the usual naive crap from Mcblarney and just the usual demented rantings from Fry!

Fergie made poor non-league signings bc those were the only players he could get w the money he had available to him. Did he sign Exodus? Did he sign the players in the January window?

i agree with gilroy why the hell did he have Lewis in and what happens he`s flappin around. He has to go he`s cost us games and you can see the defence has little confidence in his ability.. i would give the lad Mckeowen ago at least he gets stuck in and opens his mouth unlike Lewis

Sorry I've been away so long. I gave up trying to reregister when the website was "upgraded" (Note to Ed. - it's a lot worse ) as the security letters were impossible to get right to register. Even after I complained to the ET they still have not made the letters and numbers any clearer. Perhaps they want to keep us Poshies off the site...Anyway, a great win today lads and let's forget this season, get rid of Fergie's poor non-league signings who never played and go for the title next season!

Shame we didn't have a decent manager from the start of the season. Still, another 5 wins and 32 more goals and we would have been safe. Sounds a lot, but you count the games we should have won up and we wouldn't have been far off. If only Ferguson had taken his head out of his backside and listened to what everyone was telling him.

It would have been easy for the side to just lie down. Good to see they didn't. Also nice for CMS to sign off with a brace. Maybe that will help restore a little of his transfer value.
