AN ANNUAL tree planting event at Ferry Meadows has been cancelled after a lack of interest.

AN ANNUAL tree planting event at Ferry Meadows has been cancelled after a lack of interest.Previously, teams of volunteers have assisted rangers but only two people expressed a desire to help this year.

A spokesperson said: "It didn't seem like enough people were coming to make it worthwhile."

The event was due to happen on January 20 but now rangers will do the planting on their own.
