The festivities began at noon on Saturday when the headteacher of St Botolph's Primary School, Jenny Daniels, officially opened the event.
From then, it was a busy schedule of entertainment, including Peterborough band Second Drove and the Desert Dancers belly dancing act on the Saturday, with the One Eyed Cats bringing the night to a musical close.
And there was more of the same on Sunday with live music from Monkey Business, a bike ride and activities provided by Peterborough City Council's Young People's Service.
But that wasn't all, as there was also a vast variety of stalls selling a range of items and a another of inflatable activities, from bouncy castles to the hugely popular HydroSphere.
Organiser John Sharman, from the Botolph Green Residents Association, said: "Most people hung around for a long, long time so I would be most surprised if we didn't have a couple of thousand over the weekend.
"It made all the difference having the sun come out for the weekend and it made the walking on the water, HydroSphere, very popular.
"The One Eyed Cats were excellent, very visual and with it being such lovely weather, people sat outside in our little drinking area.
"We learn each time we run this event, we make mistakes, you always do with things like this, but I think they get fewer and fewer each year and it was definitely the most successful one we've had."
