TV's Notown want singer to say 'yes'

A SPACE has become vacant in a Whittlesey-based motown group which once wowed the judges on the TV hit X Factor show.

A SPACE has become vacant in a Whittlesey-based motown group which once wowed the judges on the TV hit X Factor show.Notown without Motown – who featured on the ITV talent search as Notown in 2006 – are looking for a talented new member to join them.

The group now tours around the country, performing soul and motown sets at holiday camps, social events and weddings.

Member Dave Jordan said: "We want another member ready for when our line-up changes this year.

"Anyone applying for the job must be willing and able to travel long distances and to stay away from home for short tours of between four and six days during the summer months."

Notown reached the boot camp stage of the competition, but judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh kicked them out because the rest of the competition was too strong – even though Louis praised their faultless performance.

Terry Woodbridge took over from Eric Jordan after the X Factor appearances, but he has now also decided to leave, paving the way for another singer to join the group, which includes Corey Lewis.

Since the show, Notown have landed contracts with Butlins and the Warner group, and have entertained thousands of holidaymakers performing alongside other X Factor stars Chico and Journey South.

They are now managed by Dings Entertainment.

Notown are looking for a singer to replace Terry.

Applicants should be male, aged between 21 and 35, slim, willing to learn dance routines and with an ability to sing some lead vocals with harmony support where needed.

Experience is not a necessity, but will be considered an advantage as well as ability.

This is a full-time position and requires commitment, so anyone applying needs to have either have no job or a very flexible one.
