A GLIDER pilot was injured after his aircraft crashed in Toft on Monday night.

A GLIDER pilot was injured after his aircraft crashed in Toft on Monday night.The 58-year-old man from Essex was taken to Peterborough District Hospital with ankle and shoulder injuries after coming down near Lound Road at about 4.40pm.

The British Gliding Association will conduct an investigation into the crash.

Sawtry: Stars in their eyes

YOUNGSTERS will get the chance to learn to sing and dance like a superstar at an event being held at Sawtry leisure centre on Monday.

A Day At The Musicals is for children aged six to 15 and will take place between 10am and 4pm. The leisure centre is also hosting an ice-cream making workshop between 10am and noon for youngsters aged five to 12.

Dyke: Cats need homes

HOMELESS cats and kittens will be hoping to find loving new owners at a forthcoming homing day.

The Stamford and District branch of Cats Protection is holding its first ever open day on Sunday and is inviting the public along to Washakie Kennels and Cattery in Meadow Drove, Dyke.

The event will run from noon until 4pm and although there is no charge for adopting cats, the branch asks for donations.

Chatteris: Follow the trail

FAMILIES are being invited to follow the Chatteris Scarecrow Trail to help raise money for its entry into next year's Anglia in Bloom competition.

An observation quiz is being run with questions based on 35 scarecrows dotted around Chatteris throughout July. Entry forms cost 1 and are available from the Old Bakery Tea Rooms in Market Hill or from Diane Baldry on 01354 692467 or 07710 635712.
