Pulling pints together good for this pair

ANYONE living in Woodston is bound to be familiar with two of the area's best-loved characters – landlord and landlady of The Cherry Tree, Jess and Ann Caprio. The couple have been married for 38 years, and have run their Oundle Road boozer for 12, after owning a restaurant in Mablethorpe together for five years.
"I'm not sure Ann would have gone into business if it wasn't for me," said Jess. "She is a very lovely, laid-back lady, whereas I am adventurous, and like to do new things – and I didn't want to work for someone else."
Jess said that the actual amount of time the two of them spend together is not that different to the average couple, as his domain is behind the bar, while Ann (56) oversees what goes on in the kitchen.
"Working together is never going to be a bed of roses," said Jess (56). "Don't get me wrong, we have had fall-outs because she thinks we should go about things one way and I think something else, but on the whole it's good - that's probably why we've been married for 38 years."
Jess added that the couple, who live over their pub, try to forget about domestic tiffs when they head downstairs. "I wouldn't go into the pub trade again," added Jess. "There's so much stress these days.
"But I would run a business with Ann again, why not. She always says she would like to run her own Post Office, so watch this space!"
