Monday, 16 March:

A body is discovered in the River Nene. Police say they believe the body to be Gillian Merrick.

Thursday, 26 February:

The 49-year-old man arrested by police in connection with the disappearance is released without charge.

Tuesday, 17 February:

Police appeal for a man seen on the A605 Oundle/Ashton roundabout on the night Gillian went missing to come forward.

Wednesday, 4 February:

A British Transport Police officer reports a possible sighting of Gillian at King's Cross.

However, a week later police rule the sighting out after examining CCTV footage using facial recognition software.

Wednesday, 28 January:

A 49-year-old man is arrested in connection with the disappearance of Gillian.

Tuesday, 27 January:

Gillian's husband, Nick Merrick, makes an emotional plea for her to come home in front of millions of viewers on GMTV.

16 January:

Family's new 'come home' plea to Gillian.

Tuesday, 13 January:

Gillian's home is searched by police officers. The search lasts 11 days.

Monday, 12 January:

Gillian's husband Nick is joined by family members at an emotional Press conference staged to launch a fresh appeal for information about Gillian's whereabouts.

Monday, 5 January:

About 50 volunteers, including many from Black and Veatch, in Orton Southgate, Peterborough, where Gillian worked, join police in searches.

Sunday, 4 January:

Up to 40 people from the Oundle area join the police search along with specially-trained dogs.

Friday, 2 January:

A report comes in of a woman seen walking along the A605 towards Thrapston about a quarter of a mile from the Oundle roundabout in the early hours of Friday. There is no confirmation the woman was Gillian.

5pm: Gillian Merrick (45) is reported missing – she was last seen at her home in Oundle, at 11pm, the previous night. It is out of character for Gillian not to have made contact with friends or family, and officers are concerned for her welfare.
