PETERBOROUGH favourites The Brays are hopeful of a hit this week, with their new single flying up the alternative charts. The band have just released This Is It Now, on The Animal Farm record label, following a showcase gig at London's Indigo2 venue last week.

And guitarist Matt Seddon said the song had already reached number 42 in the iTunes alternative chart this week.

Recently hand picked to play with Feeder at an intimate club show, The Brays are now hoping its release will lead to bigger things.

Ville Lempnamen, who runs The Animal Farm, believes this won't take too long, saying: "We were impressed with the band's vibe.

"We first heard about them on the compilation This Is Peterborough last year, and after seeing them a few times, were impressed with their energetic shows and the quality of their song writing.

"We then decided to put out a series of singles on our label, and hope to build on the momentum that is developing."

This Is It Now can be downloaded from all major online retailers. To find out more about the band visit www.the-brays.co.uk.
