More than £2,000 raised at concert

MORE than £2,400 was raised at a charity concert in Upton.

MORE than 2,400 was raised at a charity concert in Upton.The Evelyn Glennie concert with the Vocal Academy took place in August.

A total of 2,484 was raised which will be shared between Rett Syndrom Association UK, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice, CARESCO, Upton Village Hall and St Margaret’s Church in Upton. Plans are already under way for the 2009 concert.

Chance for flower fans to meet up

YAXLEY Flower Club will meet tomorrow.

This month’s event will take

place at St Peter’s Church in

Yaxley.

Maureen de Bank will hold the event, called Lets Celebrate from 7.30pm. Tickets cost 4.

Soup and bread lunch at worship

A LUNCHTIME worship will be held today.

Stilton church will hold the

worship at the church meeting room from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

Holy Communion will be followed by a soup and bread lunch.

The church will also hold its dinner dance on Friday.

Runners’ chance to meet up

YAXLEY runners are urged to turn up to a number of pre-Christmas Thursday meets.

Members, and newcomers, are asked to go along to the Regional Swimming Pool, in Bishops Road, Peterborough, tomorrow night

at 6.30pm.

The next week, the running starts at Power League, in Stanground, with runners urged to gather at the same time.

And on December 6, the racing starts at Bushfields sport centre, in Orton, Peterborough.

On all days, club handicaps are asked to arrive at 6.15pm. Running starts at 6.45pm prompt.

Badminton fans urged to join club

SAWTRY Badminton Club has started its season again.

The club started up again in

September and caters for all

levels of play, from juniors,

beginner to league.

Juniors, aged 11 to 16, can meet between 7pm and 8pm, with

seniors meeting between 8pm

and 10pm, at Sawtry Leisure

Centre, in Fen Lane.

Everyone invited to mid-week worship

A NEW mid-week worship event will take place next week.

REST, a cafe worship style service, is open to everyone on Wednesday, November 28, from 7pm.

The event takes place at Sawtry Methodist Church.
