The Evening Telegraph launched a "Wear it with Pride" campaign to get the ban overturned.

The city was left shocked after Posh legend Ken Charlery's son Kenny (18) was blasted through the window of his car by a gunman in another vehicle which drew up alongside in Hackney, London on March 18.

The former hero of London Road kept a vigil by his son's bedside, as he lay fighting for his life in a coma.

The teenager made a full recovery.

Young Nicholas Shoesmith touched the heart of hundreds of people across the city after hearing his plight to raise 10,000 to help beat a rare condition which prevented him from eating.

The toddler was born with Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease, which caused vomiting when he swallowed, meaning he had to be fed every hour through a tube in his stomach.

On March 20, dreams of being able to eat chocolate and crisps like his friends became a reality.

The bubbly youngster now loves his food, especially if it is coated in ketchup. Local businesses, organisations, schools and members of the public donated more than 14,000 to send the two-year-old on a three-week gruelling and intensive treatment programme in Austria.

Peterborough woke up to the snowiest Easter for a quarter of a century on March 24.

Children were quick to rush out and enjoy the first major snowfall of the year, wrapped up in woolly hats and gloves with their sledges in tow. The last recorded major snowfall on Easter Sunday was in 1983.
