A BEVY of beauties took to the stage in Spalding to celebrate the relaunch of Springfields Outlet Shopping Centre. The spectacular backdrop for the parade which included Miss England finalists was the state-of-the- art dancing display fountains which wowed the gathered crowds.

Miss Peterborough Lydia Fahy was just one of the beauty queens at the event on Saturday.

She performed in the front of the musical and colourful fountains, which had been imported specially from India after featuring in beauty events worldwide.

Organiser Francesco Brillante said: "It was fantastic, we had more than 250 people watching the parade of beauty. My partner, Sophia Cahill, gave a presentation, and interviewed former Miss Wales and Big Brother contestant Imogen Thomas and current Miss England Laura Coleman on stage, which was great."

The shopping centre's new backdrop is part of a 11 million expansion which included both new stores and new garden attractions.

The landscapes festival gardens have been designed to resemble a Thai water garden with a floating oasis, and joins the celebrity showcase gardens, garden centre, children playbarn and Fen's Discovery Centre.
