Harry Potter super fan Nick Myers, from Dogsthorpe has already had a sneak preview of the film and also had an exclusive invite to its star-studded premiere as he is the movie manager of the largest Harry Potter website in the world. The first screening in Peterborough at the Showcase Cinema of Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince was due to take place today (15 July).

But one city super fan has not only already had a sneak preview of the film at the Warner Bros offices in London, but also had an exclusive invite to its star-studded premiere – where he grabbed the chance to quiz the stars on the red carpet.

And Nick Myers, from Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, did not even need a magic wand to conjure up the opportunity as he is the movie manager of the largest Harry Potter website in the world, MuggleNet (www.mugglenet.com), which has the endorsement of author JK Rowling herself.

Nick (20) said: "We benefit from a special relationship with Warner Bros who make the films, so I got the chance to cover the premiere.

"It was just incredible to be there, I am such a huge fan."

And Nick, who went to Deacon's School, in Peterborough, not only had to battle his nerves as he waited for the likes of Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) and Emma Watson (Hermoine), but also he had to deal with the driving rain.

Nick added: "The weather was terrible and meant interviewing the cast was difficult as we couldn't hear them too well.

"It is really hard coming up with new questions as well, as they have already had to answer loads of questions and you want to keep it fresh.

"But they were all really lovely and all stopped for a chat, which was pretty great."

Nick is currently on a gap year back in Peterborough, where he is working for e4education, a leading web design company, based in the Ortons.

And although the Ortons may be miles away from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, Nick said the experience had been fantastic, as he prepares to go first to Lancaster University and then California to complete his studies in computer science.

He said: "I have learned a lot in my time here, especially about dealing with members of the public and colleagues, and how to communicate better, which has been a great challenge

"My dream is to work on either TV or films doing computer effects or designing computer games.

"And to celebrate the release of the film, we are currently holding a competition on our website to win some great Harry Potter goods. All people need to do is send an e-mail to mugglenet sweeps@gmail.com with their name in the subject line."

But one thing Nick is remaining tight-lipped about is the film itself, and he has had to put up with a grilling from fellow fans as to what to expect.

He said: "I have not been able to say anything as it all has been kept secret."
