Thorpe Hall Hospice was opened in May 1991, to provide care for people over the age of 18, with active, progressive and advanced illness, where the focus of care is on quality of life. They provide care mostly for those with advanced cancer.

Thorpe Hall Hospice was opened in May 1991, to provide care for people over the age of 18, with active, progressive and advanced illness, where the focus of care is on quality of life. They provide care mostly for those with advanced cancer.Most of their patients come from within a 35-mile radius of Peterborough.

It can care for up to 16 people at any one time.

The hospice requires 2 million a year to operate. About half of this comes from the local health authority and social services. The rest is raised by the hospice. As a

registered charity, it relies heavily on donations, legacies and fund-raising activities.

The hospice offers short-term care for symptom management, respite, both for palliative and progressive neurological conditions, and end-of-life-care.
