Band name: Aviators.

From: Spalding.Together since: 2003

Influences: The Rolling Stones, McFly, Thin Lizzy, Extreme.

Members: Max Knight, lead vocals; Tom Maylor, lead guitar and backing vocals; Dan Mothers, rhythm guitar; Oli Revill, bass; Rafe Thomas, drums.

Information: Explains Oli Revill: "We have played together since 2003, so have been playing in pub gigs since we were 13 years old. We played classic rock when all other bands played hardcore or metal.

"Until 2006 nothing very serious happened. Then, after entering the South Holland battle of the bands and winning, we were given the chance to play on a float in the Spalding Flower Parade, and then Spalding Pumpkin Parade."

He said the band has moved on from playing covers to working up original material.

"Our own songs have become very popular locally and we are now looking to achieve this in Peterborough and further afield. All members of the band are taking a gap year next year to see how far we can take the band."
