Christine's proud of her loss

THEY say life begins at 40, but for one Peterborough woman it is beginning at 61.

THEY say life begins at 40, but for one Peterborough woman it is beginning at 61.After celebrating her 60th birthday with her twin sister, Christine Turner, from Wansford, near Peterborough, looked back through the photos and was horrified with her 15 and a half stone figure.

Mrs Turner joined WeightWatchers in January last year and in just over a year, the grandmother to six has lost more than five stone, flying past her original target weight of 12 stone and now weighing in at a trim 10 stone 7lbs.

She said: "I never dreamt that I would be able to do it. It has made such a difference to my life, I used to feel old and frumpy but now I am more active and I love shopping for new clothes."

WeightWatchers leader at Stamford, Zoe Dilley added: "I am really proud of her. When she first started she had to drag her daughter along because she had no confidence and now she is a changed woman."

WeightWatchers sessions are held at Stamford Arts Centre, in St Mary's Street, Stamford at 10am every Wednesday morning.
