Beijing star to present award
A SAWTRY swimming ace will be presenting an award at this year's Sawtry Carnival.
A SAWTRY swimming ace will be presenting an award at this year's Sawtry Carnival.Lauren Steadman, who took part in the Beijing Paralympics, will present the Best Group in Parade award at the carnival on Saturday.
The fun kicks off from Sawtry College, in Fen Lane, at noon, with a TV and movie-themed fancy dress parade.
There will then be more than 60 stalls and attractions for visitors to enjoy, as well as displays from the Harmony Majorettes and Sawtry firefighters, who will be cutting someone out of a car.
Hot and cold refreshments will also be served.

Fun on Veterans Day at legion
VETERANS and their families are invited to a fun day in Yaxley later this month.
Yaxley Royal British Legion in Broadway, Yaxley, will hold a Veterans Day event on June 27.
The event will include a raffle, pool tournament, darts tournament and barbecue.
The fun will run from 3pm to 8pm, with karaoke at 6pm.
New members are welcome.
