Actors looking to next show

An AWARD-WINNING drama group will meet in the Hamptons again after their summer break next week.

An AWARD-WINNING drama group will meet in the Hamptons again after their summer break next week.Hampton Amateur Theatre Society had one of its most successful summers ever this year, and will be hoping to build on that success as members start work on their new play.

The group held its first- ever charity fund-raiser at the premiere of its play Who Cares, Wins, held at Peterborough High School, in Thorpe Road.

All the funds from the first night were donated to Sue Ryder Care, and the group then continued its successful run.

Members then took one of the two-act plays on the road to the Hunstanton Drama Festival, where they were highly commended.

Kevin Hughes won the trophy for Best Supporting Actor, and Julie Jordan and Giselle Rawlings were nominated for the Best Actress Award.

Now, after taking a summer break, the group is meeting again on Tuesday, August 12.

One of the topics up for discussion at the meeting will be which play the group will perform for next year’s production.

It is hoped this will take place in the spring.

Newcomers are welcome to attend the meeting, which will take place at the Hampton Community Room, at 7.30pm.
