Peterborough leads conference debate

PETERBOROUGH members of the Federation of Small Businesses are set to lead the debates at the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) National Conference in Aberdeen, on March 19 and 20.

PETERBOROUGH members of the Federation of Small Businesses are set to lead the debates at the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) National Conference in Aberdeen, on March 19 and 20.

Attendees, including Lord Mandelson, David Cameron and Alex Salmond will see that local members have again shown their complete understanding of small business problems by submitting two of the six resolutions at the conference.

These call for an independent review of the inadequacies and inefficiencies of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) in its treatment of farmers, and for equal benefits for the self-employed who find themselves without income as are enjoyed by employed persons.

Rod Handford, of the FSB Lincolnshire Region, said: "This region always submits topical and relevant resolutions to help formulate future FSB policy, which will help every self-employed and small business owner."
