Focus on training in a cost-effective way

COUNTY businesses are set to benefit from a wider choice of local project management and IT training courses during 2009.Focus on Training, a specialist in these two areas, has expanded its schedule – companies will be able to select from 250 training opportunities in the East of England, at cities including Peterborough, Cambridge and Norwich.

Focus on Training, based in Werrington, Peterborough, has developed this programme to help customers curb training expenditure in the current economic dowturn.

“Eliminating hotel costs and limiting travel time and expense have become key in enabling organisations to continue developing staff competence,” said Focus business development director Rex Gibson.

“A positive factor in 2009 is the wider availability of government funding to support training undertaken by small and medium-sized businesses.”

Working with accredited trainers, Focus offers a full range of the best-practice PRINCE2 courses in project management, and ITIL in IT service management. High quality training venues for scheduled courses include the Marriott Hotel, in Peterborough, and the Science Park in Cambridge.

As well as regular public scheduled events, on-site training can be organised at a customer’s own location.

Mr Gibson also noted new opportunities created by The Learning Collaboration – a training partnership formed by members of the Cambridge Network.

He said: “Companies can save money by pooling their training requirements for standard courses such as PRINCE2 and ITIL. Focus can arrange delivery at a mutually convenient company venue with significant savings in costs when there are six or more delegates.”

n The full array of courses can be accessed by visiting www.focus-on-training.co.uk or by calling 01733 325232.
