A man who built a successful franchising company with more than 100 franchisees has launched a new business concept: a fully formed franchise, but to be operated part-time and with no ongoing franchise fees.Freddie Rayner has developed No More Mites as a way for people to make extra money part-time cleaning mattresses in homes. He's the brains behind Time For You, one of the UK's biggest domestic cleaning franchises, currently serving more than 12,000 clients a week.
The new business No More Mites costs a one-off fee of 2,100, with no ongoing franchise costs. And this gives new franchisees everything they need to operate a mattress cleaning business in their area, including equipment, training and a bomb proof sales method.
Freddie said: "We are expecting this to really take off in 2009. The downturn has affected people quite badly over the last few months, and many people are struggling to make ends meet.
"To earn extra money, a lot of people will take on a second job. I say start a part-time business instead.
"You have a lot more control over when and where you work, and can earn a lot more money than working for someone else."
The business equips owners to prove the presence of dust mites and their faeces in mattresses. The faeces, which can only be seen under a microscope, can exacerbate illnesses such as asthma, eczema and rhinitis.
The business owners will be able to remove the faeces using a special water-filtered vacuum cleaner, and then easily sterilise the mattress with a UVC light wand.
Business owners will be able to earn up to 200 per appointment and fit the business around an existing job.
Freddie added: "No More Mites is a really easy sell once you are inside someone's home. You can show them how the dust mites are affecting the health of them and their children.
"Most people don't realise that their medical conditions can be exacerbated by dust mites living in their mattress."
