Woodston: In-quiz-itive youngsters win schools competition

CLEVER pupils from St Augustine's Junior School in Peterborough have been crowned as the brainiest in the city, following an inter-school general knowledge quiz.

CLEVER pupils from St Augustine's Junior School in Peterborough have been crowned as the brainiest in the city, following an inter-school general knowledge quiz.The team of four pupils from St Augustine's Junior School, in Palmerston Road, Woodston, came out on top against seven other schools during the quiz at Fulbridge School, in Keeton Road, Dogsthorpe.

Having taken part in a multiple choice quiz, the team, made up of Elliott Long (11), Alice Irving (9), Patrick Fordham (9) and James Lear (8), scored a whopping 81 per cent to claim the title.

St Augustines' deputy headteacher Nicola Pierce said: "They were absolutely delighted to win the competition.

"It was good because they were taking part as a team."

In winning the competition, the school received an engraved plaque, and each member of the team walked away with a certificate to mark their achievements.
