A STAMFORD woman has been given a three-year Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO).Anne Marie Dowling (30), of Sargents Court, Stamford, was issued with the ASBO following her conviction in April at Lincoln Crown Court for assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and two counts of intimidation which resulted in a total of 12 months imprisonment, suspended for two years.
Under the terms of the ASBO, Dowling is now under a three-year order and is banned from doing the following, anywhere in England and Wales;
n Being in possession in a public place of any can, bottle or other vessel, containing alcohol on which the seal has been broken.
n Acting in any manner that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person in a public place.
These conditions are in force until May 8, 2011.
If she breaches any of the conditions without a reasonable excuse she will be arrested and could be jailed for up to five years and/or a fined.
South Kesteven District Council (SKDC) worked closely with Lincolnshire police to bring about the order.
Community Safety Officer for SKDC Sandy Kavanagh said: "We cannot tolerate violent behaviour anywhere in South Kesteven and if an ASBO is a way to control individuals we will continue to apply for them.
"ASBOs do work in South Kesteven because we are able to monitor the individual's behaviour and we will be keeping a close eye on Ms Dowling."
