Warning over rogue traders follows dodgy roofers incident

RESIDENTS are being urged to be aware of rogue traders following an incident in Peterborough.

RESIDENTS are being urged to be aware of rogue traders following an incident in Peterborough.Police Community Support Officer Mick Whittaker said the incident took place in Wicken Way last week when two males in a white Ford Transit went to the house of an elderly woman.

They tried to get her to agree to let them do some work on the roof.

One of the males then got a ladder and climbed on to the roof and moved two roof tiles and told the elderly lady that work needs doing on her roof.

Both men left the house before police arrived.

PCSO Whittaker said: "Please be aware that rogue traders work similar to this and if you have anyone knocking on your door saying that work needs doing to your house call us on 0845 456 4564."
