THOUSANDS of 4x4 fans from across the country gathered in Peterborough for the two-day Land Rover Show 2009.Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes were brought to the East of England showground, at Alwalton, by members of 70 Land Rover clubs. The event drew crowds of about 25,000 people over the weekend.

During Saturday and Sunday, they showed off their vehicles and tested out an off-road course, designed by Protrax legend Vince Cobley.

Attractions included extreme driving displays, winching demonstrations, a motorcycle stunt show, a Sodbury Sort Out parts sale and a sheepdog show – as well as an appearance from the world's biggest Land Rover, a 20ft working replica vehicle.

There was also a huge trade area and a vehicle restoration project run by expert Jerry Thurston.
