BRIGHT babies in Peterborough have learned to start communicating with their parents before they can even utter their first words.

BRIGHT babies in Peterborough have learned to start communicating with their parents before they can even utter their first words.Thirteen parents and their babies came to the baby signing class held at Werrington Library.

The class, held last Thursday, was run by teacher Jackie Fewtrell, who aimed to show parents and babies hand signs for basic concepts, such as indicating they are hungry or thirsty.

It was the first of a six-week course being held at the library, in Staniland Way, Werrington.

Shreen Ranson was one of the mothers who went to the classes with her two children.

She said: "There were quite a few parents with their children there, and all the kids seemed to like it, as there were lots of singing and arm movements which kept them entertained while they were learning."
