Twins hope for double luck on Britain's Got Talent

THEIR showbiz name may be Double Trouble, but the talented Owen twins are hoping their version of the hit song will prove to producers of a popular TV show that they are twice as nice.

THEIR showbiz name may be Double Trouble, but the talented Owen twins are hoping their version of the hit song will prove to producers of a popular TV show that they are twice as nice.On Sunday, bubbly 10-year-olds Kim and Kath sang one of their favourite numbers at Birmingham's NEC arena in a bid to make the cut for Britain's Got Talent.

The identical twins, of Ling Garth, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, have been belting out tunes from musicals since they were three, and have dreamed of singing in front of millions of TV viewers.

So when the Dogsthorpe Junior School pupils found out the ITV show – which features Simon Cowell as a judge – was looking for new stars, they applied.

Proud mum Jean McKinsteray (32) said: "They have always been interested in singing from the age of three or four.

"We used to do family Christmas videos of them singing and give them as presents to family and friends.

"They have always watched these programmes on TV, and they asked me when the dates came up if could they audition.

"We applied, and a letter came last week.."

Despite looking like two peas in a pod, their mum said they had distinctive personalities.

Kim said: "It's fun singing together. We have fights, but we like being together when we are lonely."

Kath added: "We do karate and we're twins, so we called ourselves Double Trouble.

"I'm totally excited about the audition."

Contestants will hear in a few weeks time whether or not they are through to the next round.
